University of Miami Two Story Wet Laboratory
New state of the art modular facility to provide the University with rapidly needed expansion and swing space for Bio-medical research. The two floor structure will include 3 open research laboratories, lab support areas, barrier animal facilities, and associated office space. Each floor will have common interaction areas with conferencing, break rooms, and seating. The building has been designed to be constructed in 40 factory made modules, and assembled on site in a fraction of the traditional project delivery time. Additionally, the building is designed to allow for future expansion if needed. Based on the project location in Miami, it is designed to withstand category 5 hurricanes and will feature south facing sunshades and campus tie-ins for critical power and chilled water.
