Recreational Facilities
Billerica Boys and Girls Club
Adding 10,000 sq. ft. of new construction and renovating the 14,000sq. ft. original 1960’s building gave the Club a facility far better suited to provide their excellent youth programs. The new sections added a large sunlit entry lobby, a full size gymnasium with a large equipment storage room, and an administrative wing. The existing steel building was replanned for a new kindergarten and four other spacious activity rooms for older children. New curtainwall, clerestory, and skylight glazing provide natural light, brought deep into the original structure by means of extensive interior glass. New locker rooms, a parental pool viewing area, and a new dehumidification system enhance the swimming program. The mechanical and electrical systems throughout have been replaced, and the building is now fully sprinklered. The Club programming is growing to make use of its expanded facility to server more members.
